Research Awards Available Deadline: JuTo be announced
A total of $3,500 is available for up to two pre-doctoral and two post-doctoral nursing research grants. Applicants must be a registered nurse who hold an earned doctorate in nursing or are pursuing doctoral education in nursing. Doctoral students must be at the dissertation stage of their education. Applicants who are not doctoral students at Teachers College must have at least one graduate degree from Teachers College.

Research Award Application--Deadline to be announced Please provide all requested information in the following format: 1. Abstract (not to exceed 200 words): The abstract provides elementary review of the proposal content. 2. Proposal Description: The proposal description (i.e., research plan) must not exceed 3 double-spaced pages (1” margins and 12 point font). Include the following sections: a. Nature of the research and significance. Describe the research and include an introduction, a summary of what you intend to do, how it relates generally to research or creative work in nursing, and why it is significant. If applicable, please describe any collaborative research arrangements involved in your project. b. Goal(s) and objective(s). The research project must be clearly defined in the case of quantitative research methods; you should specify the hypotheses being tested or the questions being asked. When using qualitative methods, describe the basic ideas, problems, works or questions the study will examine, and explain the planned approach of thought. c. Procedures. Include a description of what you propose to do including (as appropriate) methods, techniques, and facilities available for the project. A timetable for completing the work is essential. d. Expected Results and Data Analysis. Describe the type of results that are expected and how the data will be analyzed. e. Publication or presentation. How do you plan to communicate the results of the research? f. Feasibility of project. (For post-doctoral award). Include the background and expertise of the principal investigator as they are related to the project. A list of previous research or work relevant to the proposal should be included. g. Pertinent Bibliography. This section generally consists of 5 to 10 references in the field of study. 3. Institutional Review Board Committee (IRB) Approval: If the research requires approval from the Biohazards, Human, or Animal Use Committee, a copy of the IRB approval should be attached to the proposal. 4. Curriculum Vitae. Submit a current copy of your curriculum vitae. 5. Budget Page with Justification. Please attach a budget for the project. Be as specific as possible when estimating the budget. Complete one budget for the entire research project. 6. Report: Research Award recipients will be required to provide a report within two years of receiving the award that includes: a summary of results of the study; publications where findings are reported; and list of presentations related to the research study.
